Sometimes cooking is a hassle. Okay, most of the time, right? It’s tough to dream up the perfect meal, get the ingredients, and make it exactly right, not to mention the clean up! This holds especially true to healthy meals; dealing with fruits and veggies can often be time-consuming. But it’s totally worth it, and not every healthy recipe has to be complicated or time-consuming. Quick recipes are easy to find, and if you’re in a fix, cooking up something quick is important, and we understand that! Keep reading for a list of great healthy recipes that you can do in twenty minutes or less!
- Tilapia – You may be thinking, “Fish in twenty minutes?” But it’s totally doable. Grab those amazing frozen, pre-cut fillets. They’re available in almost every large grocery store and are super easy to cook. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees, then grab your fish. Here’s where it gets even simpler. You can use plain sea salt, lemon, or Cajun seasoning to spice up your fish. I like to wrap my fish in aluminum foil and add squeeze in a little lemon juice. Pop it in the oven for fifteen minutes, and voila! A great entrée.
- Simple salad – Salads are usually easy to prepare, and this one is no different! Grab some kale, lettuce, broccoli, and cauliflower and toss them into a bowl. Toss in a handful of feta cheese – no dressing required! It’s a simple way to dress up your greens and skip the fat and preservatives that salad dressing has.
- Tuna melt – Grab some honey wheat, or any yummy whole wheat or rye bread, and your favorite tuna salad. You can make your own or trust Chicken of the Sea, whichever you prefer! Lay on some tomato slices and some Swiss, shredded sharp cheddar, or pepper jack cheese. You can easily use a griddle or waffle iron to toast your bread, or eat it as is.
There are loads of ways to eat healthy, and the above recipes are a super simple way to do that!
