Keeping Your Bathroom Spick and Span
Your bathroom is constantly damp, and you’re always wiping away the day’s debris on your towels. As a result, it’s generally one of the messiest places in the house, especially if you have a couple of girls! Hairspray cans, hairdryers, gels, makeup…they all seem to gather on your vanity somehow. It can get really irritating and disheartening to have a messy bathroom. Here are a few tips and tricks I use every day to keep my bathroom clean and organized.
1. Your toilet – Baking soda will keep your toilet cleaned as well as most cleaners you can buy. Throw in a quarter of a cup once a week and let it sit for a few minutes. After a bit, if it needs a scrub, go ahead and do it. If not, flush and wipe down the seat, flusher, and back with antibacterial wipes. Drop a freshener into the back of the toilet, or use one of the kind that hang over the bowl.
2. Your shower – You can use lemon juice to clean your glass shower. It gets rid of soap scum and mildew that builds up on glass. After every shower, use a shower-cleaning spray. Get your roommates, if you have any, in on it as well. It’ll stop mold from growing and keep your shower smelling fresh. If you do have mold and soap scum in your shower, use a cleaner or bleach. I prefer bleach because I know it’s pure and it kills germs best. Run a little bit of warm water in the bottom of the tub, add in bleach, and wipe down the walls, shower head, and faucet.
3. Organize – Besides hygienic cleaning, you also need to organize underneath your sink. Keep separate tubs for hair products, skin products, etc. It’s easier when you make a habit of where to keep stuff. Then you’ll put things back there automatically and it’ll be easier to keep organized.
4. Miscellaneous – Clean your toothbrush holder regularly and replace toothbrushes every three months or after the owner has been sick. Sweep your floors and pick up dirty towels, placing them in appropriate clothes bins. Things go easier when you have a bin for towels and a bin for clothes.
Keeping your bathroom clean can be a chore, but if you take preventative measures, it’s easy to do and makes you a lot less stressed out. Use these tips and tricks to keep it clean and good luck!
