Stores Go High-Tech and Homey to Lure Shoppers

It sounds more like pitch for a TV sitcom than a retailing plan. It could be a love story about a computer geek and a rapper, or a cop show with mismatched partners. Read all about the plans to keep lure you out of the house, make you brush your teeth, put something decent on, and spend gas to go to their stores: According to DailyFinance.com, “While online retail sales are still a small percentage of total retail sales, e-commerce growth rates are outpacing traditional brick-and-mortar stores every year, according to a new Deloitte report. ‘In fact, the average growth rate of online sales has been about 20 percent annually, while the growth rate for traditional retail sales lags far behind, averaging about 3 percent per year.’" I am a little skeptical about this diabolical plan. It’s fun to get out and mingle and shop, but there is a lot to be said for the convenience and comfort of shopping online at home. I think people will always go out to shop, but the decline is just inevitable. Brick and mortar stores may want to post a picture of the post office on their fridge to remind them to stay mean and lean.
