Top Five Stupid Things Guys Do That Piss Girls Off

in category of Extracurricular, Lifestyle, dating, relationships, Remy Carreiro

I could technically just write the word “everything” and the piece would be complete, but that would be a cop-out on my part. Instead of going for the obvious, I decided to focus on some specific things guys do on the regular that puts a serious crimp in the longevity of their relationships.

Guys, this list could also be called “Stuff You Totally Need to Work On.” I know, because I’m writing this piece in front of a mirror, weeping.

Not Your Typical Romantic Date

in category of Extracurricular, Lifestyle, Audra Rundle, dating, relationships

I went on a date this weekend. It’s the first date I’ve been on in quite awhile, and it was absolutely amazing. I might even go so far as to call it my dream date.

There was wind in my hair, the drinks were amazing, the view was breathtaking, and I burned more calories than I consumed. A lot more.

(No, we didn’t do what you think we did.)

The date was with my husband…and it involved a 10-mile run through rolling hills.Read More »

Five Ways Girls Push Guys Away

I usually try to avoid “the girl did something displeasing to the man and should be called out or punished” articles, but I thought I might be able to write this in such a way where it was not completely demeaning, or made men sound like the superior sex, because clearly, we are not, and I can openly admit that. Regardless, these five moves can push away even the brightest and sweetest of guys.

Six Ways to Celebrate Your Singleness

Whether you’re fresh out of a painful breakup or single and looking for “Mr. Right,” the mere thought of Valentine’s Day can bring feelings of dread knowing you don’t have a special someone to celebrate with. While it might be easier to hole yourself up in your room, eat three boxes of chocolates and karaoke to your favorite good/bad ’80s love songs, you (and your body) will be thankful down the road for taking a better, healthier approach.Read More »

Words with Soulmates

The next time you play Words With Friends, you may find love on the board. Not as a word played (that would be too easy), but as a romantic spark with your competitor. You could find the love of your life by playing against a random opponent, making Words With Friends into Words with More-Than-a-Friend. In a survey by Zynga (maker of the app), almost half of the respondents reported that they have a crush on someone with whom they play the game.Read More »

To Valentine’s or Not to Valentine’s?

in category of Extracurricular, Lifestyle, Abby Lee Hood, dating, relationships, Romance, valentines

While I was still in elementary school my parents and grandparents would send me roses for Valentine’s Day every year. Even after I got old enough to have boyfriends who gave me gifts, I still received roses from my family. I never really understood why they sent them, but it made me feel spoiled so I didn’t complain. After all, nobody wants to feel unloved on Valentine’s Day. Read More »

Five Non-Clichéd Ways to Compliment a Woman

I didn't realize until well out of high school how clichéd most compliments women get are. It seems like, as men, there are four to five things we all compliment, and a bevvy of other things that we just seem to refuse to notice. The thing is, when you tell a girl with pretty eyes that she has pretty eyes, you are probably the five hundredth guy to tell her that, so the compliment will have no impact whatsoever. She will go back to living her life, and just like before you paid the compliment, you will go back to not existing to her.Read More »

Chemically in Love

I think my favorite love-at-first-sight scenario from a movie is the infamous barbeque scene from Gone With the Wind – when Rhett Butler first laid eyes on Miss Scarlett O’Hara. That glance sparked one of history’s most infamous love affairs – and the most heated!

Rhett wanted Scarlett from the moment he saw her because he saw straight through her. He saw their similarities on a very deep level from the word “go,” and the rest, as they say, is history. Read More »

The dating world has changed. Here's what you need to know.

The winds of change have been blowing steadily for about a decade, and the world seems to have shifted from a literal place to a technological place. It is like we are living on a science fiction novel, and that has bled into everything we do. We order food and clothes online. We keep in touch with our friends online. We get most of our information online.Read More »

Celebrating Valentine’s Day from a Distance

in category of Extracurricular, dating, relationships, Sara LeDuc

I have been in a long-distance relationship for over two and a half years, and at times, it is definitely a challenge. Holidays and birthdays are especially difficult to bear, especially a holiday that centers on love, couples, and togetherness. When all you want to do is hang out with your loved one but you are hundreds (or thousands) of miles away, it can be a little depressing. Furthermore, you probably feel so left out of all the Valentine’s Day celebrations!Read More »
