Fun fact: Tyra Banks is terrified of dolphins. Also, dolphins make terrible co-models. I feel like ANTM is struggling to come up with new challenges, because this week had some ridiculous photo shoots.

Just like the beginning of every episode, whichever model survived the bottom two promises to take better photos and to prove to Tyra why she’s there. In this week’s episode of Beauty and the Beast, Cat’s obsession with her mother’s murder causes some serious problems. We meet Cat’s younger sister, who is staying with her but getting sick of seeing boards and boxes dedicated to the unsolved crime. In the end, the two agree to try to mend their strained relationship, but I predict we’ll definitely see lil’ sis get into some dangerous situations this season.Read More »

It’s time for the second round of competition in the first ever Dancing With the Stars: All Stars season!

Melissa Rycroft and her partner Tony opened the show with an energetic Jive. In a flirty 1950s-style halter top and hoop skirt, Melissa was all smiles on the ballroom floor. Len praised the couple, but Bruno was critical of their performance, prompting Len to tell him to “Shut up!” When the judges are already bickering after the first dance, you know it’s going to be a long night! Watch out, this is a double recap for a double episode. There was a lot to cover in this continuation of the season finale, so there were two hours of headline-mooching drama. In the season premiere, we pick up with the elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit as they find themselves stuck in staged crime scenes and set-ups. Captain Cragen is contacted by an escort/witness in their murder case that has brought a pimp and a madam to the NYPD’s attention, meets her at a diner, then can’t remember anything until he wakes up next to her dead body the next morning.Read More »

This season has brought a bunch of changes to freshen up the tired series (now in its 19th cycle), not all of which were explained in the first episode. Maybe it’s because I’m a visual learner, but the scoring system finally made sense once it was put into use. Each model is given a score out of ten for the challenge, for the fans’ responses through social media, and from each of the judges on the weekly photo. The judges’ scores still count for more than the challenge or fan votes (since they add up to 30).Read More »

This week’s episode of PLL started out with Hanna and her mom awkwardly trying to move a large potted plant for no apparent reason. Hanna’s not being too helpful, but when she eventually gets up she finds a note that was presumably hidden underneath it. It’s from Maya to Emily, saying she has something she needs to tell her, and also that her cellphone has been stolen. It’s dated the day she died – because I know I always date my cryptic notes and leave them under random plants that no one ever touches! Read More »
