Three Tips for Great Men’s Skin Care
All right, guys. I know you may not be simpatico with obsessing over the way you look. No one’s saying you should. However, there is something to be said for taking care of yourself and looking your best. This doesn’t mean you have to spend hours prepping the bathroom either! For instance, look at skin care. I firmly believe that any guy can have a GREAT complexion if he just follows a few basic steps. First, take care when shaving. Invest in one of two options – either a durable electric razor or some high-quality disposable ones. Never shave with the cheapest option at the drugstore, because these won’t do you any favors. Furthermore, never use a razor more than a few times before throwing it out. Doing so will increase your likelihood of ingrown hairs, cuts, pimples, etc. I recommend shelling out the $50 for an electric razor, which will not only save you money over time, it will make your face feel great. You’ll never go back to the disposable kind. If you just don’t have the cash, at least make sure you have a quality aftershave balm – this is key!
Next, buy some good old Biore pore strips. I know, I know, you don’t believe me. Trust me! They are NOT just for girls. In fact, they should just market them for guys. I don’t know how many guys I’ve dated with great complexions everywhere but their nose! It often looks like you have hairs growing out of it! Use a Biore strip twice a week to get rid of those disgusting blackheads, and you’ll definitely be turning more heads immediately. When you look at the strip you tore off, you’ll know exactly why it was necessary. Lastly, stop touching your face. Are you prone to breakouts in a certain area (around the nose, center of the cheek, etc)? If so, it might be because you subconsciously touch it all day long. Seriously. Just stop. You will save yourself loads of stress, scarring and perhaps money by just keeping your hands off. If you have to scratch, use a cloth. Never touch your face unless you have some kind of oil-free facewash to rub on. Bonus: This isn’t a skincare tip, but pluck those eyebrows. You don’t need to make it obvious, but some basic plucking in between and around your eyebrows never hurt anyone, and could very well be the difference between “No thanks” and “Yeah, I’d love to go out!”
