And They’re Off!

Well, The Real Housewives of New Jersey has officially started its fourth season, and this one promises to be a doozy. I’m not often a fan of re-inventing TV shows. Especially when it comes to reality, I feel like you tune in for a reason, and just having a name and a fun theme song aren’t gonna make people tune in year after year. I guess I’m kind of resistant to change, though I realize that can be a bad thing.

And boy, is that true about Jersey. The show is now on its third game changer, and I could not be more hooked. Seasons one and two (which basically were one long season) were all about Danielle’s mischief. Season three was all about Teresa dealing with her familial issues (again, I was not a happy camper when I found out Ms. Staub was given the boot, but I soon realized it was for the best, because season three was all that and a bag of chips). And now, season 4 is about Teresa vs. everyone else.

Frankly, I’ve been waiting for this since season one. Caroline and Jacqueline may have just had their aha moment over the summer, but I was never a fan of Teresa. I never understood why someone as loyal, smart, and down to earth as Caroline would ever be friends with people as low as the Giudices, so I feel utterly redeemed. All of Teresa’s inconsistencies are about to be “On Display,” and I cannot wait!

I will give it to Teresa, though, that she does have style. She’s finally stopped wearing leopard print EVERYWHERE (thank God) and tonight she looked pretty fierce in that blue bikini on the Jersey Shore. I am also excited for what promises to be some kind of South Asian-inspired event, because in the preview for the rest of the season, we saw Teresa and Jacqueline getting real in saris and full-on Indian garb. Somehow, Teresa managed to look hot there too. OH! And has anyone seen the promos where Teresa knocks over the Bravo logo with her amazing dress? Whoo boy.

Thank God Teresa’s got that fashion sense in check, otherwise I couldn’t even keep eyes on her. Anyway, the second episode is only a few days away, and I am counting down the hours. I hope you are too, because I am ready to hear Caroline let Teresa have it, and do it soon!
