I have been waiting a week, and it was worth it. The opening scene was pretty gruesome, but it would have been criminal if that severed hand still clutching the visibly expensive handbag didn’t get a few jokes from the characters. This show is like a roller coaster—you can be grossed out and grabbing for a hankie one minute, and yelling “OH ^&$T!” in laughter the next. You could practically see the driver’s whole life and that of his family going down the drain as they drove him away.
I was thinking, “Wow, two families destroyed” as they walked up to tell the dead woman’s husband, so I never saw a scene straight out of The Wizard of Oz
coming, complete with a “Ding- dong” from new kid Lucy Liu. It all worked. It helped to erase the shot of the victim’s mangled body twisted up in the car. This show is back with a vengeance. If you didn’t get hooked last year, they will be reeling you in for sure with season two.
I am so loving this show, I actually look forward to those annoying encore performances they show for whatever reason. And call me crazy, but I see Valentines for two unlikely characters.
