Season 3 Promo of The Walking Dead

Last weekend at Comic-Con, AMC unveiled the trailer for season three of zombie fan favorite The Walking Dead. The show, my personal favorite, is scheduled to premiere on October 14.

Behind-the-scenes featurettes and other promotional material on the show’s website have promised fans a harder, faster, darker, and deeper plot than ever before—and the trailer certainly gives credibility to that promise.

The four-minute trailer could not have come at a better time. It hit the audience at Comic-Con and fans on its website a full three months before the scheduled premiere of the first episode season three—just enough time to tide over diehard fans’ demand for more, and just enough time to excite other viewers to tune in come October.

Viewers are given a glimpse of new characters, new locations, new drama, new rivalries, and a new batch of zombies threatening their favorite characters’ existence. Plus, viewers were introduced to what seem to be the two main narratives for the season. The first follows the original group led by Rick as they attempt to secure an abandoned prison facility as their new sanctuary. The second follows Walking Dead alum Andrea, who was separated from the group in season two and rescued by a mysterious, hooded stranger. But, as the trailer shows, these narratives will converge at some point.

Whether you are an avid fan of the show or newfound zombie enthusiast, the trailer is worth checking out.
