Your lifestyle, your quirk
There’s a new experience coming to Detroit, Michigan, and it’s pretty exciting! Would you believe me if I told you that it’s a zombie theme park? It’s true! America’s newest obsession – zombies – is coming to Detroit in the form of an entire theme park dedicated to the creatures. What exactly will it entail? Check out the description Buzzfeed gave about the new park:
“You, your friends and hundreds of others have survived the zombie apocalypse. You enter an enclosed urban landscape where a small, but growing, group of zombies is unleashed. How long can you last? Can you make it to morning? Can you find the needed supplies to survive? Will your hideout be overrun by zombies, forcing you to flee? Will you find refuge in an abandoned house? In an old store? In a hulking old factory? Will you be separated from the rest of your group and be forced to run solo? Will you join up with another group of survivors? Will you ultimately succumb, transforming into a zombie and hunting down your former friends and allies?”
The article goes on to describe the night you’ll spend in the park, running from zombies, setting up camp, surviving without being turned into a member of the horde. The game is based on tear-away patches. If you’re running, trying to survive, you have to try to tear off the zombies’ patches to eliminate them, while trying to keep your patches intact. But if all of your patches are ripped off, then you ultimately join the zombie horde and must turn against the survivors, even if that means facing down family members!
The article says more about the park here:
“You and your teammates are weaponless since your ammo has run out. Instead you must rely on your skills and teamwork to avoid the zombies, to design makeshift fortifications, find food and water and withstand the final assault. Can you find a suitable base? Who can you trust? Can a teammate be talked into being a diversion for the greater good? Do you hunker down or make a run for it?”
The park sounds like a whole lot of fun, doesn’t it? Getting to live inside a zombie-infested, war-torn, post-apocalyptic area of the city is like living out a real-life video game or movie! I wonder how much tickets will be? It’d be worth it, don’t you think? To watch the promotional video for the park, check it out here.
Have a great week!
