All’s Dark on the Dorm Front

in category of Freshman Forum, Abby Lee Hood

Last night, I was at rehearsal for the spring show and things were going pretty well. The entire cast was feeling motivated and energetic. We’re working our way to being off-book, too, so things were running more smoothly in general.

Until we started hearing popping noises and the lights went out.

All of them.Read More »

Miley’s Pot Fiasco

in category of Gossip, Quirked, Abby Lee Hood, celebrity news, tech

Miley Cyrus got all tangled up in a social media controversy earlier this week. The Instragram user “mileyxxcyrus” posted a picture of a young blonde with short hair smoking what looks like a joint. While the majority of the girl’s face is obscured by smoke, some people thought it was Cyrus.

The Instamgram user’s page can no longer be found – the link says something has gone wrong. A quick search for the username using the actual app reveals similar usernames, but not the actual account that posted the picture. Read More »

Light-Hearted

in category of Beauty & Style, Fashion, Abby Lee Hood, businesswear, Pastels, trends

One of my favorite trends for spring is definitely pastel-colored business wear. I first saw brightly hued button-ups and blazers at Gap as part of a holiday collection, and now I can’t get enough!

If you’re a businesswoman yourself or attend occasions that frequently require you to dress up, there’s no excuse to have a boring, drab wardrobe. Plain black pencil skirts and gray tones are safe areas that professionals lean towards, but showing your personality and stylish flair is always a do! Read More »

Cute and Cuffed

If you’re a girl who doesn’t like to wear boring earrings, or you want to try out ear jewelry before committing to a piercing, ear cuffs are perfect for you! Cuffs are pieces of jewelry that usually just slide or clip onto your ear – no piercing necessary. Some cuffs do require you to have a piercing, however.

Ear cuffs make a big statement if worn correctly. Even small, dainty pieces can stand out. You can find normal metallics like gold and silver, or choose from other colors like black, green, red – the possibilities are endless! Read More »

in category of Opinions, Quirked, Abby Lee Hood, celebrity news, parenting

Bethenny Frankel, former star of The Real Housewives of New York, is coming out with yet another book about her “struggles” as a single mother. Frankel recently divorced her husband, Jason Hoppy.

Frankel is probably best known for her abilities as a businesswoman. She was a contestant on The Apprentice, and has even admitted to using Housewives to gain a footing in the business world. Read More »

Do You Believe?

in category of Opinions, Quirked, Abby Lee Hood, Stuff you didn’t know

If there’s one thing I’ve been interested in lately, it’s the supernatural. Perhaps it’s a natural way of things for a college student, perhaps I’m psycho, or perhaps it’s because my friends are just as adventurous as I am. Either way, I’ve been loving the darker, mysterious side of life.

I haven’t exactly been attending Wiccan meetings, but I have been branching out in my knowledge – learning about the rituals of other cultures and how they view things like magic and ghosts. Read More »

Manly Jewelry

in category of Beauty & Style, Fashion, Abby Lee Hood, accessories, jewelry

While women wear jewelry all the time, men don’t wear accessories as often. In other cultures, it’s true that jewelry is a bit more symbolic and less “sissified,” if you will, but in America, most men are looked down upon as being too feminine if they wear jewelry. The same goes for a man who wears really stylish clothing. Read More »

The Future of TV

More and more former cable customers are dropping their subscriptions, along with the payments those subscriptions require. They’re switching to the faster, tailored streaming options offered through Internet TV. Streaming costs less money than a cable subscription, and it has on-demand options so that you can watch what you want, when you want. The latest of these options is a little box that streams content live. Read More »

Craziest Sex Laws

in category of Weird News, Quirked, Abby Lee Hood
If you’re going to have sex with the devil, you’d best wear a condom. It’s the law.
If you’re going to have sex with the devil, you’d best wear a condom. It’s the law.

Sex comes with a lot of unspoken laws that you’re just supposed to know – like not being really creepy or not going overboard with the whole S&M thing. But did you know that there are written laws, too? Many states have crazy weird laws pertaining to sex, like not being able to sleep with a porcupine (Florida). I’m not sure who came up with these wacky laws or even why, but they sure make for good entertainment! Read More »

As a college student, I’m constantly on the go. I’m never in one place for very long and I don’t usually spend the night in one place for more than two or three nights in a row. This makes breakfast really hard, because I’m constantly moving around.
