Trust Your Body

in category of Naturally Organic, Audra Rundle, Living Naturally

My concept of bodies has changed drastically throughout my life. As a child, my body was simply taken for granted. I ran around all day – in extreme heat or snowdrifts up to my armpits – in constant high gear, bouncing off everything. Although I certainly acquired cuts, scrapes, and bruises, my body never slowed with arthritis, sore or pulled muscles, or broken bones. No matter how hard I had played the day before, I woke up the next morning recovered and ready for another day.Read More »

Thank God Wood Isn’t Pink

in category of Naturally Organic, Audra Rundle, Living Naturally, parenting

With my daughter’s birthday and Christmas happening within a month of one another, there’s been a lot of inquiry about gifts and what she needs or wants for the holiday. I dread this question because of the assumptions that come with it. I get tired of explaining why we prefer wooden over plastic toys for her, and I am more than mildly disappointed in our culture that I have to specify that not everything given to her needs to pink. Just because my daughter is a female doesn’t mean she has to have specific toys and colors shoved down her throat.Read More »

She Looks Like Her Father

in category of Naturally Organic, Audra Rundle, Living Naturally, parenting

You have your father’s eyes! You look just like your mother at that age! I hope the baby get’s his mama’s curls! He favors his mother. She favors her father.

Most of us hear some variation of these types of comments at some point in our lives. People never seem to tire of searching for a child’s resemblance to its parents. Who did they get each body part, each facial expression, and each personality quirk from? Who do they take after more?Read More »

The Secrets of Long-Standing Celebrity Marriages

in category of Extracurricular, Lifestyle, Audra Rundle, celebrity news, relationships

Hardly a week goes by without an announcement of another celebrity couple scandal or divorce. It can get depressing. As a married woman, I get much more excited reading about healthy, beautiful, long-standing marriages. I find it encouraging and reassuring that marriage can still mean what it was originally intended to – a loyalty to and respect for one another that lasts for a lifetime. But are there celebrities who meet that description? Sure! You just have to look a little harder.Read More »

Who is Lindsay Lohan Dating?!

in category of Quirked, Audra Rundle, celebrity news

For the record, I just learned who The Wanted are. They are one of the big boy bands right now, and I can only blame my age for why I didn’t know about them sooner, as I am older than their targeted tween and teen fan base.Read More »

Rihanna Naked…Again

in category of Quirked, Audra Rundle, celebrity news

Rihanna seems hell-bent on making sure the world is talking about the status of her relationship with ex-boyfriend (and ex-abuser) Chris Brown. Am I the only one being made sick by it? I am tired of seeing half-naked photos of these two. I don’t know any “just friends” who spend the night together and hang out mostly naked, so I’d say that status of their relationship is pretty obvious.Read More »

LeAnn Rimes’ Guilt

in category of Gossip, Quirked, Audra Rundle, celebrity news

A few times in the past year I’ve found myself feeling sorry for LeAnn Rimes. She is certainly not the first celebrity to engage in an extramarital affair, but the public criticism toward her seems much harsher than usual, and much longer-lasting. Still, it doesn’t help that she keeps putting her own head on the chopping block by tweeting endless pictures of herself half-naked with her husband, and granting interviews where she has to know that topic of her affair will come up.Read More »

Megan Fox Is A Changed Woman

in category of Parenting, Lifestyle, Audra Rundle, celebrity news, motherhood

Motherhood changes you. I experienced this change personally just over a year ago, and I now notice it in other new moms. Overnight, you become more aware of your mortality, your effect on the plant, your relationship with other people, and your real priorities. It’s beyond humbling. Although this change is overwhelming at first and will never completely go away, it does fade a bit, and you’re occasionally able to see life as you once did for short periods of time.Read More »

Moving On From Divorce

in category of Quirked, Audra Rundle, celebrity news, relationships

Something about Jennie Garth rubs me the right way. I can’t pinpoint what it is about her, but I really like her. I feel like I would get along with her in real life, which is not a feeling I have about many celebrities. So of course I felt horrible for her when her divorce from actor husband Peter Facinelli (best known nowadays as “Carlisle” from the Twilight saga) was announced.Read More »
